You need good enough room to stretch. If you are in a studio, you have enough room there.

Your body has limits, so try not to stretch your body beyond limit, especially if it is your first time. You can gradually bend or push slightly. When it becomes uncomfortable , you have to stop and do it over again. Don’t worry, as you consistently do this, your body will become more flexible and you can stretch more.
As most instructors will remind you at interval during these poses to breath. Breathing is as important as the exercise itself. As you breathe, you stretch your lungs which expand because your chest cavity increases. When your lungs expand, the air travels down all the way to your blood stream. This is where the healing effect takes place. Also, in all your workout poses, exercise patience. Your body has to get uses to the flow. Don’t beat yourself over a fall. It takes time and effort to become a master at this divine practice.
