A SQL query walks into a bar. He approaches two tables and says, Mind if I join you? http://twitter.com/geckobrother/status/18756600604

setting innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit to 2 instead of default 1 made innedb-tables like 100 times faster

i also found a very-important-to-tune mysql option
-
murtlest 2010-05-20 01:13

kill -9 on the other hand will result in corrupted db
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 23:45
mysql should shut down properly on kill
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 23:45

-
mezod 2010-05-19 23:35
noone seems to know...i didnt insist much tho
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 22:51
latest thing i've found is to try mysqladmin shutdown
-
mezod 2010-05-19 21:52
let's see if someone has a solution
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 21:49
i've tried creating a own mysq.pid with the process-id of the mysqld process but mysql doesn't seem to buy that
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 21:48
and because of that i cant stop mysql
-
mezod 2010-05-19 21:48

-
murtlest 2010-05-19 21:48
or at least the .pid
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 21:48
that resulted in that mysqld_safe deleted the mysql.pid and mysql.sock file
-
murtlest 2010-05-19 21:48
i accidentaly runned mysqld_safe while the mysql server was already running
